Coming from a broadcast background as a true gamer, IGN's news room felt like home.  From that first desk, we began evolving a concept - quick and short news videos based on articles for folks who want to watch rather than read their gaming news. That video series became IGN's top performer, and eventually helped spark the early days of IGN Studios.  A team at IGN developing original content around gaming's hottest brands, using IGN's voice to amplify their messaging.  As the studio grew, we were able to deliver extremely high production value, as I furthered my goal of finding ways to make gaming content as cinematic and entertaining as possible, and beyond.  Below are some of my favorite pieces of content I had the pleasure of developing, writing, producing, directing, and editing.
Mega Man Documentary
[Mega Man 11 Launch ]
The Blue Bomber Returns in Mega Man 11
IGN partnered with Capcom to bring the backstory of Mega Man to the world with an in-depth look at the history of the famous "Blue Bomber", his effect on pop culture, and what to expect in the new game in this 3-part short docu-series.
The Last of Us w/ Game Creator Bruce Straley
[Facebook Series - Last of Us]
Before the hit show on HBO, and the sequel game to the original on PlayStation, The Last of Us was known only as the amazing game that changed how we tell stories in video games. The opportunity to sit down with the creator and play through the game was a unique experience that IGN was able to share with the world.
SPOILER ALERT!
This video will spoil plot details for the game/HBO series.
Extreme Gaming Challenge
[Facebook Series - Last of Us]
While at IGN, all the bigger-than-big ideas that didn't make it went into a special folder...and then one day Old Spice heard about this folder, and I was writing scripts about gaming in fighter jets,  booking zero-g flights, rigging gaming systems to dune buggies, flying a drone, and piloting a hovercraft.
The end result: one of the most fun IRL projects I've ever worked on.
Mountain Dew Gamer Hub
One of IGN's partnerships was to supply Mountain Dew with original content for their "Gamer Hub".  Every week, I would write, produce, and edit a new piece for their platform. The gallery of my favorites can be seen by clicking the link below.
