As a creative director developing content for a platform that features creative design tools as well as gaming and multiplayer experiences, you must consider the artist, the engineer, the player, and what they want to see most in their preferred content, respectively. As the director of digital content or Manticore Games, it is my responsibility to Core and its community of eager developers and world creators, as well as players of all skill types from casual to competitive, to deliver Core's message to those communities and beyond.  Through, streaming video, content-on-demand, and multi-platform integrations, Core's content viewership and community has seen incredible growth.
In the early stages of the platform, I developed machinima (Machine-made-cinema) tools and methods for in-engine capture,  as well as created brand-iconic content formats from 3D asset build-ups, showcasing new props and world kits, to opt-in Core lore in our cinematic launch trailer for Core's early access into the Epic Games Store.
What is the Metaverse?
The answer is in Core.
For Core's launch onto the Epic Games Store, I wrote and directed a cinematic trailer, shot entirely in the Core engine using UGC camera tools, and worlds built by Core's community of creators.  This video features the first Core character to be voiced and star in a content piece, providing origin lore and fandom around Core.
Some of my favorite campaigns at Core are the ones around integrated partnerships with legendary brands and incredible talent from across the Metaverse.   Below you'll find examples of my videos promoting tentpole events.
One challenge while developing the look and feel of Core's supplemental marketing content, was developing messaging for users with no knowledge of the platform who needed to understand how quickly and easily someone can create with Core.  This format of content became known as the now brand-iconic Core Build-Up videos.  These tools were designed to be accessible to anyone creating in Core, and have been used to make highly sharable UGC social content in Core's community.
Education is a key pillar in Core's success as a platform.  Educating creators on how to use a new toolset requires a deep understanding of the needs at various levels of user-comprehension.  A novice creator may prefer short videos detailing a process, while advanced users may want a long-form deep dive into the theories and methods of a specific subject. I developed multiple formats to solve for this variation in demand, from social quick-tips videos to highly polished beginner tutorials.
